After next week's spring break, I'll be back in the school librarian's chair, teaching K-5 students, so I thought to do some author studies with the little ones, to ease myself back in the role and just because they're always fun for everyone. I haven't decided on all the books or even the authors yet, but this is what I'll be perusing during my break.
Kindergarten - Kevin Henkes
First Grade - David Shannon
Second Grade - Tomie dePaola

Our favorite of the Kevin Henkes books is, without a doubt, Kitten's First Full Moon. Although I read it with my kids as toddlers/preschoolers. Chester's Way might be more age appropriate for kindergarteners.I love both books, really, and they're a good example of how the same author can have very different writing and illustration styles.
Have heard really great things about Dani Noir, but yet to read it. Your other titles sound great too. Have fun reading and stop by and check out my interview with Sharon Draper.
